Thank you all so much for your donations to Coach Rector's weekend. It was an amazing sight to see. Ya'll, she cried when she read your comments in that book. Thank you for those heartfelt words.
If you ever needed validation about being an educator...seeing something like this would seal the deal. Students from the past 25 years were there to support her. And it's not like she was an "easy" teacher. She was tough... she pushed us...she put up with probably too much. She got on to us in biology. She yelled at us on the field. She made us pull tires for punishment... But she knew when we needed comfort too. And hugs... and understanding. And a trip to a college campus.
I hope your kids come back now and then and tell you what you meant to them. Its more than you know if you take the time to build relationships. (She told me she had no idea that she meant this much to people.)
Have a fantastic Teacher Appreciation Week. You all deserve all the love for the sacrifices you make for our students! I am proud as always to work alongside you. #JHESTRONG!
~Shout out to Coach Fulton for coming out and running a 5K all the way in Weatherford. Ya'll... that course was 75% uphill... make sure you give her a high five! (I think I owe her!)
~Shout out to Caitlin Gray for winning $500 dollars for her classroom from the Retired Teachers Association! She was chosen out of around 100 teachers! WOO HOO!
~Shout out to Nancy Hutchinson for advocating for a student so he can be placed in an appropriate classroom for his learning! So awesome that you continue to do this for our kids!
~Shout out to everyone that has been DRA/EDL testing. Thank you for working hard to collect the most accurate information on our kids so we can make the best possible instructional decisions possible!
