Week at a Glance August 28-September 1, 2017

Bulldog Squad!

What a great first week of school! I am so proud of the team we have grown into over the past 4 years. This was the best first week of school I have ever had and I owe it to you all!

Some "happenings" this week:

1. Our Kiss and Cry breakfast was a success. It was neat to have parents enjoy breakfast and connect with us on Wednesday morning. And there weren't too many tears!
2. The leadership team and I started our  Kids Deserve It book study (by Adam Welcome and Todd Nesloney). Adam has joined us and it has been awesome. He is down to earth and excited to help us grow. It has been so fun hearing him talk and listening to staff share ideas and thoughts. 
3. Our numbers are running low. We are about 75 kids less than predicted. We are hoping that shoots up this week since other districts are starting soon.
4. If you send me the definition of Bumfuzzle I will send you a jeans pass email for this coming Wednesday.
5. Dismissal has been smooth-we are making it through the car line around 3:30 already!

Alright! We are geared up and ready for week 2! Hope you all have a fantastic week and then... a THREE DAY WEEKEND!

Thursday August 31
>8:00 Admin meet with Mrs. Rosa Fernandez
>Rice and Kline at curriculum writing
>8-11:30 Gorena and Fountain at testing training
>2:00 Admin Meet with Akins and Martinez
>3:30 Admin/Counselor meeting with Partners in Ed.-MJB Wood
>5:30-7:00 Curriculum Night (more info coming from team leads)

Friday September 1
>8:30-9:00 Admin and Kline Meet
>College Colors Day!
>Parent Center Orientation in am
>1:00 Goal Setting Pep Rally (more info to come!)
>IDEA starts for 5th grade!

Good afternoon!

I'm so excited to write the first WAG of the year! I will keep this one simple because I am SURE you already have TONS to think about as you are getting ready for the start of the year.

We are going to create even MORE great opportunities for kids this year- I can feel it! Excitement, new ideas, new conversations, and sharing-the recipe for success! The best for our kids because #kidsdeserveit !

Friday August 25
>8:30-9:00 Admin and Kline Meet
>9:00-11:00 Core Team Meeting
>Make your first POSITIVE contact with parents before you leave for the day and document in your contact log!
